“Illumination Station” Lights Up Day 1 at Trinity VBS 2026.

Monday was a bright beginning at Trinity Lutheran Church’s “Illumination Station” VBS! Children arrived eager to explore, learn, and worship, and they left with smiles, new friends, and a deeper understanding of God’s love. Our opening-day activities were packed with high-energy games, colorful crafts, upbeat music, and meaningful Bible learning that engaged hearts and minds.

After a warm welcome and large-group kickoff music, our explorers rotated through station activities designed to reinforce the day’s Bible Point: “Jesus is God’s promised Son.” In small-group discussions and interactive lessons, kids dove into Matthew 16:13–20, where Jesus asks, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” and Peter declares, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Children practiced answering the question for themselves, learning that Jesus fulfills God’s promises to bring salvation. Leaders used age-appropriate storytelling, hands-on craft projects, and a “promise trail” game to help each child remember that Jesus is God’s promised Son and that trusting Him lights our way.

Parents and volunteers noted how quickly the children connected with the message. Many of the kids proudly shared their memory verse and showed off crafts that illustrate God’s promise through bright, glowing art. The afternoon wrapped up with praise songs that had everyone clapping and dancing.
